This inviting eatery serves up delicious Greek and mediterranean cuisine in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Diners are energized by a blend of House and Greek music and they are encouraged to dance on tables during dinner and into the wee hours. The servers participate in Greek “Zorba” dancing and they also toss copious amounts of white paper napkins, into the air, throughout the evening. Belly dancers entertain the guests during dinner.
Each meal starts with a complimentary hummus served with warm triangles of pita bread. Traditional Greek favorites include the Pastisio, also know as the Greek Lasagna. Seafood is an integral part of the menu and the lavraki is a must have. The Key West Snapper, Grilled Octopus, and the friend Calamari are other standouts. Carnivores love the lamb chops and there are two different platters available for large groups: the seafood platter features lobster tails, prawns, king crabs, mussels, calamari, scallops, and grouper and the meat platter includes chicken kebobs, filet mignon, pork loin, and lamb chops. For lighter fare there is a great selection of salads that can be made to your liking. Traditional Greek desserts such as baklava highlight the dessert menu. A full bar is available including over 60 wine bottles, 12 champagne bottles, and nice variety of specialty drinks.
With a restaurant capacity of approximately 300 guests, Taverna Opa is the ideal location for parties to celebrate birthdays, Sweet Sixteens, anniversaries, bar/bat mitzvahs, rehearsal dinners, bachelor/bachelorette nights, and corporate events.
